Mean Girls and Boys : Our Words Matter!

Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!

I'm rubber your glue whatever you say bounces off me and stick to you!

We have all heard these phrases and probably said them many times but it's not true, WORDS HURT! 

(I know from experience)

This is Phobe Prince, you don't know her, but you should! Phobe was a typical 14 year old girl who was bullyied until she took her own life~

I want you to read this story because girls, you don't have to put up with this!  You are loved!  Sitting in Summit last night I got to talk to some of  you and what I am hearing breaks my heart! I want you to know I know what it feels like to have some one pick on you, to have someone every single day make fun of you, put you down, and make you feel like your not good enough!  I've lived it!  In 6th grade I had a girl who made my life horrible!  I hated going to school and even refused to go on the annual class camping trip because I was afraid of what she would say to me while we were there!  I missed out because of the words of one person!  I wish I could go back and tell that Girl to ZIP IT!  And to block out what she said, but I can't!  What I can do is  continue allow God to bring healing (ooohhh Girl's I promise He can and does!)  and I can meditate on His words!

Deuteronomy 11:18-21 (The Message) 18-21 Place these words on your hearts. Get them deep inside you. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder. Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night. Inscribe them on the doorposts and gates of your cities so that you'll live a long time, and your children with you, on the soil that God promised to give your ancestors for as long as there is a sky over the Earth.

Nahum 1:7 (Amplified Bible) 7The Lord is good, a Strength and Stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows (recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands) those who take refuge and trust in Him.

Trust in God!  He will see you through anything!  And stop, I repeat stop holding on to these hurts!  It's ok to ask for help! It's ok to let them go!  Find a person (a parent, a teacher, a youth leader, an adult you trust) and share what you are feeling!  Know you are not alone!  Please don't allow others to make you feel less than what you are!  I love you and I am praying for you!

10 Things!

My Idea it's not very original but I think it will be a blast.  What are 10 things - right off the top of your head - that we would only know about you if we knew you really well? 10 random things ranging anywhere on your personal map that make you a tad distinctive? Or just plain weird? Think quickly. Don't go for deep. Go for quirky. Don't try to put them in any kind of order and don't make them long. Just start typing. I'll go first to give you the idea.  Ok Here Goes:

1.  I love the sunshine but hate the heat (I don't like to be hot!)
2.  I can't eat breakfast right away if at all.
3.  I am not, I repeat not a morning person, I need time to wake up and that usually includes a hot cup of coffee.
4.  I love to read!  I can and have many times stayed up all night reading!
5.  I enjoy cookig but not the clean up!
6.  I have no sense of direction, I get lost everywhere! (Even with GPS!)
7.  I love mexican food and could eat it almost daily
8.  I know a good iced tea when I taste one and I am not afraid to ask them to remake it if its bad
9.  I love campfires and would have one everynight if I could! 
10. I like to sing but I am horrible at it and I am ok with that! :)

We made God Love Books (A book to write down scripture to help remind us that God Loves us and Chose us!)
Sunday in Girls Group we finished up Chapter 2 and talked about how God Picked us Ephesians 2:10 says 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. He (God) picked us! we are his workmanship or in some versions it says we are his masterpiece. Think about what a masterpiece is. By Defenition Masterpiece (or chef d'œuvre) in modern usage refers to a creation that has been given much critical praise, especially one that is considered the greatest work of a person's career or to a work of outstanding creativity, skill or workmanship. Can you fathom that You are a masterpeice to God! WOW! I will post some more scriptures for you to add to your God Love Books! Have a Beautiful Day!
